IRL Men's Rugby League World Cup 2017 Qualifiers

In June 2014 the RLIF Board allocated Asia-Pacific and Europe six berths each, and Americas and Middle East Africa one berth each for the 14-team IRL Men's Rugby League World Cup 2017, jointly hosted by Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Full member quarter-finalists from RLWC 2013 plus the co-hosts were given automatic entry, meaning Australia, England, Fiji, France, New Zealand, PNG, Samoa and Scotland. The IF approved three regions' qualification competitions in October 2014, with the Asia-Pacific competition agreed in 2015 following PNG's confirmation as a world cup co-host.

IRL Men’s RLWC 2017 (Americas) Qualifiers

The United States qualified for back-to-back world cups through its victory in the IRL Men's RLWC (Americas) Qualifiers in Florida.

IRL Men’s RLWC 2017 (Asia-Pacific) Qualifiers

With all the other eligible regional nations already qualified, Cook Islands and Tonga played a one-match qualifier to take Asia-Pacific's final berth.

IRL Men’s RLWC 2017 (Europe) Qualifiers

The two group winners qualified for the world cup. The two second placed teams played a final elimination match, with Italy taking the third and final European berth at RLWC 2017.

European Championship A 2014

Had either of Ireland or Wales won the 2014 European Championship they would have qualified for RLWC 2017. With Scotland winning narrowly on points difference, Ireland and Wales advanced to the 2016 European RLWC qualifiers as that competition's top two seeds.

European Championship B 2014-15

The top three ranked nations qualified for the European RLWC qualifiers in 2016, with the highest two finishers - Serbia and Russia - seeded second and third in the competition draw.

European Championship C 2015

Spain, which had beaten Latvia to qualify for Euro C, qualified for the European RLWC qualifiers in 2016 as the sixth seed.

IRL Men’s RLWC 2017 (Middle East Africa) Qualifiers

In the first ever MEA regional qualification tournament, Lebanon qualified for its second world cup after two wins in South Africa.
