Netherlands Women To Take On Scotland

Netherlands women will host Scotland in a senior international for world ranking points on Saturday 17 October at Castricum Rugby Club, 30km north west of Amsterdam (kick off 2pm, local time).

The game will be the home side’s seventh international match and will see them aim to build on their last home encounter, a convincing victory over Greece in December 2025.

“We are extremely excited to host the Scotland ladies, they have done amazing things in a very short timeframe, which is a credit to them and look to have a great future ahead,” said Netherlands women’s head coach, Brett Davidson.

“We are looking to blood some new players to continue to build and grow our footprint throughout the Netherlands domestically. There are some amazing opportunities ahead for the international women’s game.”

It will be Scotland’s fifth international match since launching last year and their only European opposition in 2026 having beaten USA in Las Vegas in February and going down at home to Canada in July.

Scotland women’s head coach, Ady Picton, noted: “What a fantastic 12 months it has been for Scotland RL Women. “We round off the year with the Netherlands, in what promises to be another tough and competitive fixture given the current rankings of both teams.

“Fixtures like this are helping us raise our profile internationally, while 2026 has also seen a significant increase in our player pool. We believe we are creating an environment where players can flourish on the international stage. We are already looking ahead to 2027 and are currently in talks about the potential for a Celtic Cup tri-series.”
